K-CAP is Karachi’s first major climate plan addressing urban flooding, coastal erosion, extreme heat, water scarcity, deteriorating air quality, ageing infrastructure and unregulated growth.
CAC has been an active stakeholder from the plan’s early stages, contributing research, community perspectives and policy recommendations. Its priorities include data and digital access, ecosystem restoration, flooding and drainage, clean and affordable energy, and local climate governance.
CAC continues to advocate for implementation through cross-sector collaboration, financing, public engagement and accountability. For CAC, K-CAP is not just a document; it is a blueprint for a climate-responsive city.

Launched in February 2025, GKRP 2047 is being developed through consultation among government departments, planners, international experts, civil society, academia and communities.
The process addresses affordable housing, public transport, infrastructure, water and sanitation, climate resilience and the basic right to a liveable city. CAC contributes to consultations, technical discussions, workshops and subcommittee meetings to help centre climate resilience, environmental responsibility and community perspectives.
